Wow. I just watched the HBO documentary 'Weight of the Nation' on their website and its a real eye opener. I have to do something for myself and my family. Starting today. All the crap goes in the garbage. I will NOT give the children I love heart disease.

I don't think people should take it for granted that when they get sick in their old age, family members will make all the decisions and take care of them. They should plan for their own health decline. By the time they get sick, they may not have the mental faculties to make their own decisions. Thus they doom their families to squabbles, rounds of dr. appts., housing, banking, driving. Good health insurance is not enuf now that people live into their 90s regularly.

I've never, EVER had a weekend away with my girlfriends. DS is 6 yrs old. DH has had many guy weekends, or weekends alone while I took DS home to visit family. I work two jobs, and I was really excited to have some "girl" time this weekend. And it was WONDERFUL. I came home, and the house was trashed. There's a ton of shows on the DVR, meaning DH let our son watch TV for 2 days. Nothing was cleaned. I clean every weekend, and I asked him to do the same for me. JUST THIS ONCE. When I confronted him about it, he threw a tantrum and left the house for 4 hours. What a lazy dick. Unbelievable.

His meds aren't working. Things are getting worse. It looks like he might be bipolar. I am so scared. And there isn't anything I can do about it except tell the dr my fears and let them handle it. Please pray for my son and our family.

The women in my family on my moms side have mostly all had kids well into their 50s. No problems, except my aunt had twins and one died 7 months into the pregnancy. That was the only issue in the past 6 or 7 generations. It's really weird.

DD6 and DD4 love answering the phone. They get it by saying "laundromat good evening" or "hundred acre forest".Good thing we get few phone calls and its only from friends and family.

The kids and I were looking at old family pictures this morning. They were having a blast with DH's childhood antics, until DS3 askes "who is that boy?".I told him that the little boy was his father. He was so offended!"That is some kid!My papa is not some kid! He's a grown up".It was a cute and fun freakout.I had to comfort him by telling him that he was right, his father has always been his current size and age,and he has never been anything else but his father. That may come back to bite us in the ass...but today it was fun.

I don't want to scrapbook. We have some lovely framed photographs of the kids and family. I keep a few on the computer. The rest are in a pretty keepsake box and you are welcome to look at them anytime, MIL and FIL. I'm sorry you think it's a "SHAME" that I don't spend my precious free time glueing stuff to a prefab book and putting sparkly stuff around it. My kids know I love them.

So, my client that invited me to the boxing benefit actually emailed me 3 hours before it started with the address....and then I got to meet his absolutely gorgeous girlfriend (I thought he was single, honestly), family, and some of his friends. There's no way I can compete with her. She's absolutely gorgeous. and funny. and skinny. and looks awesome in a dress. She invited me to go with them to a jazz bar afterward, where I got he joy of watching them be affectionate with each other. That should have been me. I can't win. My heart/mind/emotions have been shattered once again.

I'm seriously considering giving my husband full custody of our children and forcing him to move back to his parents' house. I have virtually no say in parenting, I'm undermined and overriden at every turn by not only him, but my parents and family and his parents as well. I am their literal and figurative punching bag. Emotional, physical, and mental punching bag. At least at his parents house, they'd have the consistency of being able to eat like pigs, go to bed filthy, run into the street, and stay up all night and fail out of school instead of me trying to raise them right.
