So proud of my DH! He got a new job as Sniper Lead this last week. He was chosen among several other guys (many who are already snipers) Very excited and proud for you honey! more

I am only 17 years old but my boyfriend an I have been dating for two years and he is my best friend. I can't imagine what any of you are going through and truthfully I don't want to. My boyfriend has wanted to be an Army ranger his whole life because he says its what God is telling him to do. Now that were enrolling in college and he is enrolling in rotc it is starting to seem more real and upset me. I can't ask him not to go because it his dream but sometimes I can't help myself and I feel like an awful person. If anyone has any advice on what to expect it would be greatly appreciated.

Having one of those lonely nights, procrastinated on writing a 6 page paper that I have to finish this evening, and now the house seems even quieter than it does the rest of the time. I wish he was home to give me a pep talk!

Cutest little girl was in front of us at the grocery store today. My DH was still in his uniform and the little girl came up to him and asked if she could shake his hand. After he did she came to me and asked if we were married. I said yes and she turned back around to her dad and said "I hope I get to marry a super hero like her, Daddy." MELT MY HEART! My DH got a little teary eyed when we got back to the car, she really made him feel great. Those are the only opinins that matter, not those that hate on the military. Bless that little girls heart!

The only thing from keeping me from leaving my abusive husband or committing suicide is my cat. I'm glad I miscarried those two times because I wouldn't want them to be raised with my dear husband .~_~.

I REALLY wish my family and co-workers would stop asking me about DH's deployment and talking to me about what's going on in Afghanistan right now. It's a sensitive subject for me, and you have no idea what you're talking about and I really don't feel like explaining it to you. Go ask a history professor and leave me alone.

Broke down last night when we went to bed. He's leaving a couple months for Afghanistan and it's a first deployment for both of us. Stupid me, I've been reading "Band of Sisters" about American women who fought in Iraq and it's getting to me, just like I knew it would. Right before bed, I read about a medic who almost died (and her partner did die) after running over an IED. It really freaked me out and I just broke down.

OP here about hubby getting out. The unit he is in keeps telling him he is going to the board and he will get his stuff ready and the night before text him and tells him he needs to go for a tasking. I feel so bad for him. I am still in school not sure what is going to happen

I saw an old hs friend of mine at the Commissary and said a happy hello to her with my husband. She did the whole sorry ass goo-goo flirty eyes schtick at him. I am a shy person and she's always been this way. If I didn't know her, I'd say this behavior is the reason why some wives are taken aback by women in the military. She has about three kids and would still act that way to my husband, a stranger, and me, her old buddy.

Before my DH left the army in 2008 he was deployed for 13 months. He came back on February 13th at 11:45pm, Best Valentine's gift EVER!!! Nothing will ever top that.

Thank God for Skype. It often feels like my webcam makes my work, marriage, and family life possible. Today I'm grateful for the things it's easy to take for granted.

Military life sure does take us thru curves and bumps. At times the world seemed so dark. But I try to always look at the bright side. This story makes me sick to stomach and feel for those poor little boys. Powell story was so sad and makes me so upset. This is why I hate watching the news. May god be with those two little boys. I get frustrated about certain issues and try to stay focus. But this story definitely hit my heart.
